My partner and I just returned from an epic stay at Driftwood. The entire experience was 5-star - the accommodation, food, and amenities were not what you’d expect of a remote island. The new bungalows are extremely comfortable and every detail is well thought out - plugs by each side of the bed to charge phone/tablet/camera, reading lamps, a balcony with bean bags to relax on after surfing. From free-flow hot water and air con, to comfortable beds and rain shower head and delicious, fresh, mostly Western food every day…it felt like luxury living. Andy was a legend when it came to surf guiding - always putting us in the perfect spot to catch the waves we wanted. At 3 months pregnant, I was working with a bit of a handicap, but Andy always made sure there was always a fun wave for both me and also for my partner who is a more advanced surfer. Ichel, Ria, and Ibu Luigi (in the kitchen) went above and beyond to make sure we were well fed and satisfied every single one of my cravings…they even packed me fresh fruit to bring on the boat rides to avoid nausea (1st trimester pregnancy problems). I was a bit worried about the food options, but I honestly ate better there than I do back home - I will miss Ibu Luigi’s food!! My one request was to have a nice picture to hang on baby’s wall to commemorate their first surf trip and Oscar nailed it! It’s a memory we will save forever. The whole team at Driftwood feels like a tight knit family, and that shows in the way they work together to make the whole operation run seamlessly. Had an epic stay at Driftwood! Andy is a proper legend and hooked us up with unreal surf! I was nervous about crowds but we never really saw them!? The room had an unbelievable view of the end section at Ebay. Mesmerizing to watch from the hammock! Hospitality was great, camp was chill and the food was good and plentiful.
