Ready for the ultimate Maldives surf trip? The Maldives is 99% ocean, 1200 Coral Islands, and 26 Major Atolls, and is home to some of the best waves in the world Liveaboards are the best way to see and enjoy it all.
The best time for Maldives surfing trips is the Southern Hemisphere winter, which lasts from March through to October. The peak swell season is from June to August when you can expect the biggest and most powerful waves. During this period, the wind is offshoring all day long, resulting in a wide variety of wave options and full days of surfing pleasure.
Horizon II, Surfing Liveaboard - is a traditionally built wooden yacht that is perfect for a family or a small group. It is the agile adventurer that will take you to the most remote locations of the Maldives, where you can enjoy the secluded beaches and waters of the Maldives.
Horizon II has 6 cabins, that can accommodate up to 12 people. We mainly run surf trips from March until October, but it can be used for free diving, snorkeling, cruising, yoga, swimming, and fishing charters as well.
Our standard Route/Itinerary is as follows:
1) High Season (March - April) & Mid- Season (September-October)
· Charter Region: Southern Atoll (Huvadhoo) - This route is good for intermediate and advanced surfers. The Southern Atolls are known for powerful quality waves away and low crowd factors. Domestic flights are needed for this trip.
2) Low Season (May to August)
· Charter Regions: Male Atoll (North Male) - This route is good for beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers. This region has a variety of waves but can get a bit crowded due to the proximity to the airport and other charter boats in the area.
Central Maldives (Male - Thaa - Dhaalu - Meemu - Laamu – Male) - This route offers the perfect blend of a large variety of waves which are less crowded and suitable for all levels of surfers.
